What In The "HELL" Is Wrong With The Vatican?

Vatican Aims to Become 'World's First Carbon Neutral State'

(CNSNews.com) - The Vatican plans to create a forest in Europe that will offset all of its carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions for the year, according to the ecorestoration company that is working to help the Holy See achieve what it calls a "historic goal."

"The Holy See's increasingly creative environmental leadership is both insightful and profound," said Russ George, CEO of Planktos Corp. and managing director of its forest subsidiary, KlimFa, in a news release on Thursday outlining the effort to make the sovereign state located in Rome the "first carbon neutral sovereign state" in the world.

... it's time for all Catholic Diocese's to break away from the Vatican! Pope Bennie is getting nuttier by the week.

Dear Mr. Tiger,
I find great comfort in my Catholic Church, which as my Protestant mother-in-law taught me, is a church that "feels right". Not all churches are equal. The Papal Forest bothers me. Maybe the pope has the same advisors as GWB, or the papal leadership is trying to get more young people to go to Catholic Churches, especially in Europe? After the Princess Di and Al Gore concerts, many young consumers seem to be on the liberal insane eco-nuts' side. For whatever "reason" this papal green decision is disconcerting.

It is indeed disconcerting when the head of the Catholic Church finds it important to engage in the frivolity of such political correctness as "carbon offsets". In fact, I would call it a vexation of the spirit.

If increased attendance through good "PR" is his goal, I think he completely misunderstands Christianity and perhaps he needs a refresher course.

I understand there are many terrific individual Catholic Churches. Maybe it's time to stop sending money up the chain?

BTW, Lady, I agree with the Pope's decision to re-implement the Latin Mass, even if it is just on a limited basis.

IMO, Latin should be a required subject throughout the school system, K thru PhD.

You mentioned GWB. Both he and Pope Bennie seem to be suffering from political schizophrenia. One can't decide if he's a conservative, the other if he's really a Christian leader or a "new age" guru.

It's worse than you know.

First: "Planktos/KlimaFa has further committed to work with the Vatican and the Pontifical Council of Culture to develop methods to calculate the CO2 emissions of individual Catholic churches and offer ecorestoration options to turn their carbon footprints green."
Second: The Holy See may come to regret giving the Imprimatur to a bunch of Vancouver stock promoters.
I thought Jesuits were supposed to be smart.

Thanks for the information and the visit, Climateer.

Yes, Jesuits are smart, but smartness does not necessarily equate to intelligence. You, know, like the debate on global warming! : )
