Treating Children as a Commodity

The long war on western society continues.

These articles illustrate how children are being used as pawns in a broader culture war. They are commodities to be traded. Marriage is being redefined and devalued.

This is secular humanism run amok. But, hey, "it's for the children."

This is not going to end well

Another suicide bombing occurred in the West Bank. Islamic Jihad took credit for the murders.

Israel withdrew from the Gaza strip, the attacks continue and it should be obvious to all that these extremists are not interested in peace but only in the destruction of Israel. Even then, there will be no peace. They will continue their jihad until everyone submits to Allah. These people are driven by a pathological insanity.

Here's another example of the absolute insanity: http://wire.jacksonville.com/pstories/world/20051229/3523550.shtml

He said he bought a butcher's knife and a machete after midday prayers on Friday and hid them in the house where he carried out the killings.
"I thought the younger girls would do what their eldest sister had done, so they should be eliminated," he said, his hands cuffed, his face unshaven. "We are poor people and we have nothing else to protect but our honor."

After prayers, he bought his weapons and killed his daughters to preserve his family honor. What kind of insanity is this? Whether it's the crushing poverty, the family in-breeding, the religion or a combination of everything, we don't know. The Koran may or may not prescribe honor killings but someone in the culture certainly does. What we know is that the honor killings occur throughout the Muslim world and increasingly since World War Two the Muslim world has been expanding geographically. Honor killings and rape are occurring not only in the middle east and south Asia but have spread to Europe, England and Australia.
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/Printable.asp?ID=20646

In Australia, Norway, Sweden and other Western nations, there is a distinct race-based crime in motion being ignored by the diversity police: Islamic men are raping Western women for ethnic reasons. We know this because the rapists have openly declared their sectarian motivations.
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/Printable.asp?ID=20535

In Australia this week amidst anger over an Islamic man’s rape conviction and the bashing of two Aussie life savers, working-class locals erupted in a rampage of anger and brawling in some of the worst racial riots in decades. But there is more to the story than is being repeated in the American mainstream media....

Four days after he set foot in Australia, the rape spree began. And during his sexual assault trial in a New South Wales courtroom, the Pakistani man began to berate one of his tearful 14-year-old victims because she had the temerity to shake her head at his testimony.

But she had every reason to express her disgust. After taking an oath on the Qur’an, the man – known only as MSK – told the court he had committed four attacks on girls as young as 13 because they had no right to say “no.” They were not covering their face or wearing a headscarf, and therefore, the rapist proclaimed: “I’m not doing anything wrong.”

Young Muslim men have no respect for western women and treat them as whores. Read this excellent article. This is happening all over the Muslim diaspora.

Suicide bombings, honor killings, rapes, jihad on infidels , murders of Christians, Hindus, Sheiks, atheists, agnostics, genocide in Africa. The common denominator is radical Islam. This is a cancer that has spread throughout the world fueled primarily by Saudi oil money. Liberalism has made a serious mistake by allowing a dysfuntional culture inside the gates of a secular, decadent western world. So far the press has been too politically correct to properly address the issue. Europe, in particular seems to be so far into dhimmitude already that it might be too late for them.

Hardly a day goes by without a news story of an arrest or an attack. This madness is occurring all over the world. Even in Trinidad, two muslims were caught earlier this week trying to assemble and plant a bomb.

For as long as I can remember, Israel has been under assault by madmen bent on its total destruction. But the world has chosen to support the madmen. Now the barbarians are at the gate and still the world refuses to acknowledge the threat.

This is not going to end well.

Here's a good resource for knowing what is really being said in the Muslim world. http://www.memri.org/.

Thread Highjacker mars Christmas Celebration

Over at Freedom Eden (see link) Mary posted a Christmas tribute featuring a beautiful portrait of the Madonna and Child and the lyrics from the song "Mary Did You Know?"As happens on blogs, a "very passionate and compassionate" young man barged onto the scene railing:

"...you actually think that cutting medicare, cutting the enforcement of child care payments, cutting student loans and food stamps helps people!"
His rhetoric made for good drama but according to the Congressional Budget Office and the House of Representatives, here are the facts:

Spending on food stamps went from $29 billion in 2004 to $33 billion in 2005 and is projected to remain there through 2009.

Federal Child Support Enforcement spending increased from $1 billion (2000) to $4 billion (2005)

Medicaid spending increased $89.1 billion (1995) to a projected $193.2 billion in 2006. No cuts in Medicaid spending are proposed. President Bush has proposed to cut the annual growth rate from 7.6% to 7.3%.

Foster Care and Adoption Assistance spending increased from $5.7 billion in 2000 to $6.8 billion in 2005.

All forms of Federal Student aid have gone from about $57 billion in 2000 to $90 billion in 2005. Pell Grant Funding has increased 10.3% per year since 2000. No child left behind has grown 40%. Secondary Education spending has increased from $422.8 billion in 2000 to $537 billion in 2005.

Spending on Veterans has doubled since 1995.

When confronted with the facts, the left resorts to the class warfare rhetoric with "Republicans are giving all the tax cuts to the rich. You're greedy and the poor are suffering. Raise taxes, spend more on welfare and less on war."

The Heritage Foundation says:

Even with the historic reform in 1996, the welfare system is expensive and growing. In the nearly 40 years since President Lyndon Johnson launched the War on Poverty, the nation has spent $8.29 trillion (in constant 2000 dollars) on means-tested assistance: food, housing, medical care, and social services for poor and low-income Americans. Welfare spending dwarfs many other government expenditures. In recent years, for example, the nation has spent $1.45 on means-tested welfare for every $1.00 spent on national defense.
Even after spending over $8 trillion, the poor are still with us. Conservatives think the massive welfare spending has been counter productive and only served to keep generations of Americans poor and on the Democrat plantation.

There are no proposed budget cuts. Only cuts in the rate of annual growth. In fact, its the out-of-control spending that worries conservatives. The wild spending by Congress and the President have gained them no new supporters from the left and needs to stop, now!

The Center on Budget and Priorities breaks down Federal Spending categories as:
41% Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid
14% All other entitlement programs
7% Interest on the National Debt
19% Non Defense Appropriations
20% Defense

Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid are projected to grow to even greater percentages of the budget in the next decades and unless real reforms are made, could bankrupt the country or raise tax burdens back to levels unseen since just after WWII. Conservatives fear that tax burdens of 50% to 70% of income will remove all incentives for reinvesting income into the economy. If a "rising tide lifts all ships," higher taxer rates could be the falling tide which throws everyone into the mud of a third-rate economy.

Reopening a closed mind takes a long time and a lot of patience. Idealistic young people should be shown the right way with logical arguments in the hope that as they mature, they will see the light.

Older lefties are a different matter.

Environmental Roulette

Thursday, the Senate once again blocked an attempt to allow drilling in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR). Once again the bogus argument of protecting the pristine wilderness prevailed over truth. The truth is that the environmental movement has decided that ANWR is their line in the sand. Like those for and against gun control and those for abortion, the anti-drilling greenies will not concede one inch. No drilling in ANWR, no drilling off Florida, no drilling off the Eastern seaboard.

The truth is out about the drilling area and both sides know it. For too long, the MSM and Democrats have been complicit in the deception. Each televison news report about this debate has been accompanied by video of majestic mountain ranges and wild flowing rivers. To better understand the facts and the left's great deception about ANWR read this speech given by Gale Norton, Secretary of the Interior.

Almost nothing in this video is representative of the Coastal Plain of ANWR. We call it the Coastal Plain because it is just that—a plain. There are no trees, there are no deepwater lakes. There are no mountains like those in the video.

In 1980, in section 1002 of the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act, President Carter and the Congress set aside 1.5 million acres of the coastal plain for potential exploration and development: the 1002 area. They did so because of initial indications of the area’s energy potential.

The potential daily production from the 1002 area alone is larger than the current daily onshore oil production of any lower 48 state. Once again, the estimated daily production from ANWR would exceed what is now being produced in any individual State, including Texas and Louisiana.

We are addicted to middle eastern oil and the petro-dollars have funded terrorism for too many years now and yet we will not take even small steps toward energy independence. Even with the war in Iraq and hurricane Katrina causing significant financial pain at the pumps, we refuse to see the gathering threat posed by this addiction to mid-east oil. America's energy policy is shackled by environmentalist ideologues consumed by a lust for control without regard for truth. We continue to ignore the facts at our peril. Perhaps the American public is ignorant about the facts concerning ANWR but Congress is not. They know the truth and yet too many of them put partisan concerns and special interest constituencies above the greater good of the American public. The Democrats and a few Republicans are playing the pandering game of Environmental Roulette. One of these days, after one pull too many, the results are going to be very ugly.

A little documentation

Some people, as Alan Colmes did last night, like to claim that there is no war on Christianity in the US. They point to poll figures showing that 85-90% of Americans claim to be Christian as if that somehow proves their point. I have posted this Washington Times article as a little documentation.

Military chaplains told to shy from Jesus
By Julia Duin
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
December 21, 2005

To pray -- or not to pray -- in Jesus' name is the question plaguing an increasing number of U.S. military chaplains, one of whom began a multiday hunger strike outside the White House yesterday.
"I am a Navy chaplain being fired because I pray in Jesus' name," said Navy Lt. Gordon Klingenschmitt, who will be holding 6 p.m. prayer vigils daily in Lafayette Park.
The hunger strike is intended to persuade President Bush to issue an executive order allowing military chaplains to pray according to their individual faith traditions. The American Center for Law and Justice has gathered 173,000 signatures on a petition seeking an executive order.
Seventy-three members of Congress have joined the request, saying in an Oct. 25 letter to the president, "In all branches of the military, it is becoming increasingly difficult for Christian chaplains to use the name of Jesus when praying."
Make no mistake, a campaign is being waged against Chrisitanity. Sometimes it's subtle as in the US and other times it's extremely violent as in the Muslim world.

It has been interesting to note how the world reacts to the exclusive Truth claims of Jesus. They don't like it. For the world, it's okay to be spiritual just don't exclude anyone. As long as you recognise that "all paths lead to the top of the mountain" you'll be welcome into their new age.

"When I hear that any Iraqi has been hurt, it hurts me too" - Saddam Hussein

Saddam Hussein's trial for 1982 killing of 148 people in Dujail continues in Baghdad with Saddam revealing his "soft side" Thursday.
"When I hear that any Iraqi has been hurt, it hurts me too," Saddam Hussein said in reponse to torture testimony.

He repeated claims that he had suffered wounds in beatings, and said it took eight months for some of the injuries to heal. The US had previously dismissed this torture claims as "preposterous". Thursday, Saddam said the US could not be believed. He cited its pre-war claims that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, and the fact that none were found. "We don't lie. It is the White House that lies," he told the court.

On Wednesday, he claimed, "I have been hit by the Americans and tortured."
"I have been beaten on every place of my body and the signs are all over my body,"he said.
His defense seems to be incorporating a tactic of the Left. Well, why not? Ramzi Clark does represent him. I've noticed that whenever you hear some leftist making an accusation, you can be pretty sure the leftist is guilty of that very thing which he is accusing others of.

FISA Court Judge Resigns

From the Washington Post:
This is the most illuminating part of the whole story.
Robertson is considered a liberal judge who has often ruled against the Bush administration's assertions of broad powers in the terrorism fight, most notably in Hamdan v. Rumsfeld . Robertson held in that case that the Pentagon's military commissions for prosecuting terrorism suspects at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, were illegal and stacked against the detainees.

In other words, just more political theatre. It's no wonder that the President wanted to avoid the FISA Court.

Surprise Attacks Mar Peaceful Elections

From the Observanda wires:

Democratiists join NY al-Qaeda in Attack on WOT Stronghold

Friday, while the Bush Administration basked in the after-glow of successful Iraqi elections and rising poll numbers, NYal-Qaeda and Democratiist insurgents unleashed a planned and coordinated attack designed to derail the Patriot Act and further undermine the War on Terror.

Using familiar tactics, NYal-Qaeda initiated the attack with a vicious innuendo exploding device (VIED). Taking advantage of the ensuing chaos and smoke screen 40 Democratiist insurgents swept in with small arms fire and rancid propaganda grenades (RPG’s). Analysts described the insurgent tactics as "the classic filibuster maneuver. " The Democratiists insurgents were aided in the attack by four people wearing American uniforms. The four have been identified as Sen. John “the Sunni” Sununu, Sen. Lisa Muhammed, a convert, Sen. Chuck “the Palestinian” Hegel and Sen. Larry Craig al-Idaho.

Coalition Authorities are still assessing the damage but a spokesman said, “There’s a lot of smoke in the air and until it clears, we won’t know the full extent of the damage but we expect it will be light.”

Al-Jazeera reported that the insurgents later celebrated the attack:

"We killed the Patriot Act," boasted Minority Leader Hariri abu-Reid, Nevada Democratiist, to cheers from a crowd at a political rally. Sen. R.C. bin-Byrd, West Virginia another Democratiist, cited abuse at Abu Ghraib prison and Senator Ted Kennedy was heard railing against, “big brother run amok.”
Intelligence sources report that Kennedy has close ties to al-Qaeda and is thought to be a member of the Boston branch of the bin-Laden family.

The White House has announced a Presidential address to be broadcast Sunday night.

Al-Qaeda Heads to Israel? By Dore Gold and Lt. Col. (res.) Jonathan D. Halevi

The authors document Al-Zarqawi’s history, terror connections and make a compelling case that he will move the war into Jordan, Syria and Israel.

I agree. It's very logical that being defeated in Iraq and desperate for success and to bolster recruiting, al-Qaeda will turn its attention to the middle east. Syria and Jordan are secular targets and of course anti-Zionism is the common thread throughout the Wahhabi driven Muslim world.

Although about six pages long, this is must reading for the weekend.

Renewing the "Patriot" Act? Let's renew our freedom instead

At this time deliberations are ongoing concerning renewal of the Patriot Act to aid in securing our country against Terrorism. While I'm all for security and against Terrorism, for success in Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and other places we may send our armies; while I'm all for increase and (earned) spreading of wealth and the capitalist system; while I'm all for "peace on earth", especially in this Christmas season; I'm also for FREEDOM! Read carefully:

1. Abolition of property in land and application of all rents of land to public purposes.
this is called eradication of private property - supported by the U.S. Supreme Court and many "conservatives" and "liberals". some call it emminent domain - I call it Oligarthy.

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.
we call this the IRS in the U.S. - supported by almost all politicians.

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.
to rid ourselves of princes and kings installed by birthright - a good idea - until it applies to your inherited wealth, which it does, BTW.

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.
ever hear of the police being able to confiscate your property when you commit certain crimes?.

5. Centralisation of credit in the banks of the state, by means of a national bank with State capital and an exclusive monopoly.
we call this one, The Federal Reserve (supposedly a private institution, but controlled by the Feds).

6. Centralisation of the means of communication and transport in the hands of the State.
otherwise known as the FCC, PBS, Federal Trade Commission, etc.

7.Extension of factories and instruments of production owned by the State; the bringing into cultivation of waste-lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.
our Department of Interior has control over almost every aspect of your land use; if you didn't know.

8. Equal liability of all to work. Establishment of industrial armies, especially for agriculture.
in our country we call this "welfare" - we also refer to these as "government workers" - and sometimes, "illegal immigrants". (strangely supported by the republican President).

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of all the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the populace over the country.
government supported corporate farms, the "burbs".

10. Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children’s factory labour in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, &c, &c.
public education has been free (by taxation) for a long time now - child labor laws are in place - a college degree is now intended for the labor force, not for "education".

... this is a short list. Where did I get it? Did I make it up? Why no, of course not. It's from the Communist Manifesto.

... can you begin to understand why Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are actually Liberals? And why Democrats are already communists?

... buy guns while you can ...

James Woolsey Makes Distinctions among Islam

James Woolsey writes that there are two virulent strains of Islam: al Qaeda and Wahhabis:

Within Sunni Islam, along with several more moderate schools, there are two varieties of theocratic totalitarianism. Both of these are Salafists, believing that only a literal version of the model of rule implemented in the seventh century in Islam has ultimate legitimacy. Both have the objective of rule by a unified mosque and state; for some this theocracy is personified by the caliph. Different individuals in these movements emphasize different aspects, but generally the common objective is to unify first the Arab world under theocratic rule, then the Muslim world, then those regions that were once Muslim (e.g. Spain), then the rest of the world.
He explains that the two varieties are Al Qaeda who attack even in Saudi Arabia and the Wahhabis who are loyal to the Saudi throne. He compares them to Trotskyites and Stalinists. He explains how the Saudis appear to cooperate in the war on terror:

Similarly, al Qaeda launches attacks in Saudi Arabia and the Saudis work with us to capture and kill al Qaeda members who threaten them. In this sense both Saudi government officials and probably even Wahhabi clerics are willing to "cooperate with the U.S. on counter-terrorism." But this cooperation does not negate the fact that al Qaeda and the Wahhabis share essentially the same underlying totalitarian theocratic ideology. It is this common Salafist ideology that the Wahhabis have been spreading widely — financed by $3-4 billion/year from the Saudi government and wealthy individuals in the Middle East over the last quarter century — to the madrassas of Pakistan, the textbooks of Turkish children in Germany, and the mosques of Europe and the U.S. Alex Alexiev, senior fellow at the Center for Security Policy, testified before Congress on June 26, 2003, that this is approximately three-four times what the Soviets were spending on external propaganda and similar "active measures" at the peak of Moscow's power in the 1970s.

This underlying Salafist ideology being spread by the Wahhabis is fanatical and murderous, indeed explicitly genocidal.

This is how Woolsey suggests we defeat them:

How might we undertake to fight this Wahhabi ideology? Again, we should recall some Cold War lessons. By the 1950s, after a congressional attempt to outlaw Communism was struck down by the Supreme Court, and after Joseph McCarthy's attempt to spread guilt by association was defeated, we hit upon several ways to deal with our domestic Communists. We made them register. We infiltrated them with large numbers of FBI agents. We essentially made their lives miserable. It was legal for them and their front groups to exist — indeed they perennially ran Gus Hall for President — and they even recruited some spies for the Soviets. But despite their best efforts they were not a serious force in American life, nor did they succeed in undermining our ability to fight the Cold War. At the same time we made common cause with Democratic socialists around the world, just as we must make common cause today with the hundreds of millions of decent Muslims with whom we have no quarrel.

We should have a frank national discussion about how we may learn from this history and deal with Sunni theocratic totalitarianism — so that we may help it join its secular cousins, Nazism and Communism (and its predecessor totalitarian religious movements such as Torquemada's Inquisition) where they all rightly belong: on the ash-heap of history.

Mr. Woolsey has made a nice argument that there are distinctions to be made amongst the various sects of Islam but his recommendations strike me as weak. They could certainly be incorporated into an overall strategy but this is not the same country as post WWII. Look at our gyrations over the Patriot Act. We absolutely need to keep tabs on what is said and taught in the Mosques and over the Ramadan dinners but it's really the 3 to 4 billion petro dollars per year the Saudis are funding that concern me. How do we dry that up?

Woolsey writes that we are under no obligation to accept that the Wahhabis represent true Islam. I hope not, but then where does that leave the other Muslims in regard to the teachings of the Koran? Do they reject the calls for jihad by the sword as irrelevant to modern Islam? I'm not sure they do. If they believe Mohammed was the true prophet of Alllah then how do they not believe the words of Mohammed are as relevant today as they have ever been?

Oh and let's not forget the Iranian Shiites who have been funding terror attacks on Israel, shaking their fists at us and appear to be feverishly working on a bomb and collecting weapons of war.

They're Just Now Beginning to Get It?

I find it hard to believe that this has just recently or is currently happening.
Now for the first time, a key Pentagon intelligence agency involved in homeland security is delving into Islam's holy texts to answer whether Islam is being radicalized by the terrorists or is already radical. Military brass want a better understanding of what's motivating the insurgents in Iraq and the terrorists around the globe, including those inside America who may be preparing to strike domestic military bases.
I've been reading about this for years. Preachers have been preaching it. Come on! Are we really so politically correct?

The internal document explains that Islam divides offensive jihad into a "three-phase attack strategy" for gaining control of lands for Allah. The first phase is the "Meccan," or weakened, period, whereby a small Muslim minority asserts itself through largely peaceful and political measures involving Islamic NGOs -- such as the Islamic Society of North America, which investigators say has its roots in the militant Muslim Brotherhood, and Muslim pressure groups, such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations, whose leaders are on record expressing their desire to Islamize America.

In the second "preparation" phase, a "reasonably influential" Muslim minority starts to turn more militant. The briefing uses Britain and the Netherlands as examples.

And in the final jihad period, or "Medina Stage," a large minority uses its strength of numbers and power to rise up against the majority, as Muslim youth recently demonstrated in terrorizing France, the Pentagon paper notes.
It takes only a little common sense to see the Islamist agenda. How many times do they have to tell us that the goal is world domination by the Caliphate? How do we ignore the metastasizing cancer that rings the world from the Phillipines to North Africa? It doesn't take a genius to figure out that a Muslim who does not wish to see Islam supreme is not devout. So what is the problem?

Right now political leaders don't understand the true nature of the threat, it says, because the intelligence community has yet to educate them. They still think Muslim terrorists, even suicide bombers, are mindless "criminals" motivated by "hatred of our freedoms," rather than religious zealots motivated by their faith. And as a result, we have no real strategic plan for winning a war against jihadists. Even many intelligence analysts and investigators working in the field with the Joint Terrorism Task Forces have a shallow understanding of Islam."I don't like to criticize our intelligence services, because we did win the Cold War," says a Northern Command intelligence official. "However, all of these organizations have made only limited progress adjusting to the current threat or the sharing of information."Why? "All suffer heavily from political correctness," he explains.PC still infects the Pentagon, four years after jihadists hit the nation's military headquarters."A lot of folks here have a very pedestrian understanding of Islam and the Islamic threat," a Pentagon intelligence analyst working on the project told me. "We're getting Islam 101, and we need Islam 404."The hardest part of formulating a strategic response to the threat is defining Islam as a political and military enemy. Once that psychological barrier has been crossed, defense sources tell me, the development of countermeasures -- such as educating the public about the militant nature of Islam and exploiting "critical vulnerabilities" or rifts within the Muslim faith and community -- can begin."Most Americans don't realize we are in a war of survival -- a war that is going to continue for decades," the Northcom official warns.
Read that last sentence again. When will most Americans realize the truth?

Worry about this kind of nonsense more than the Patriot Act

The Biggest threat to Civil Liberties comes from the asinine, politically correct left which has crafted these idiotic hate speech and hate crime laws.

Why "Ahnold" is in Trouble

The Europeans are mad at him. The Catholic Church is mad at him. Liberals are mad at him. The world is mad at Arnold Schwarzenegger because he upheld the law. What did they expect? Clemency? They expected him to behave as good, civilized people of the world do. Not as Conan the barbarian American. He did his duty. He executed the letter of the law.

American law is largely based on the Law of the Bible; The Old Testament or the Torah. America is still predominately Christian and we still have capital punishment in the United States. Post Christian Europe and many secular Americans probably don't know what the Bible says about the death penalty.

This is what the Bible says about capital punishment:

"Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has man been made" (Genesis 9:6)
"Whoever strikes a man and kills him shall surely be put to death" (Exodus 21:12).
"Take him even from My altar and put him death" (Exodus 21:14).
This is what the Bible says about the authority of government:

For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to [execute] wrath upon him that doeth evil. Romans 13:3&4
This is what Jesus said about the Law:

"Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. Mathew 5:17 "
Arguments against the death penalty are nothing more than the age old battle that mankind wages against God.

The Saudis Slept Here

Today this blog was scanned by the Internet Services Unit of the Government of Saudi Arabia. Apparently something we said got their attention. To read more about their efforts go here:

What the rank and file Democrats think of Dr. Dean

You may have heard or read that Democrat politicians were unhappy with their party chairman, Howard Dean. That may be true for the politicians that actually have to run for re-election but the rank and file of the party love him.

About 2,000 wildly applauding Florida Democrats turned out for a pep rally at Walt Disney World, on the eve of their state conference, to hear Dean and other national party leaders blast President Bush and Republican policies in Congress.

2,ooo wildly applauding Florida Democrats. They love Howard Dean! They loved his message in the 2004 election but the party elite squashed it. In spite of everything, including the Clintons, Dean has become Chairman of the Party.

Democrat politcians may claim that Dean doesn't speak for them. Maybe not, but he speaks for the ones who elect them.

The mid-term elections are going to be very interesting. Will the rank and file of the Democratic party allow their politicians to campaign from moderate positions or will they demand red meat?

Bill Clinton and The UN propaganda war on the US

Is the United Nations is waging a propaganda war on the Bush Administration? Was the Montreal Climate Summit was just another stage from which to attack the United States. Look at this Agence France Press coverage of Bill Clinton's appearance:

In a show-stealing appearance rumoured to have ired the US delegation, Clinton defended the UN's Kyoto Protocol on greenhouse gases that was ditched by his successor and said the switch to cleaner energy would create millions of jobs for the American economy. He pointed to an array of gloomy scientific studies published in past weeks, including evidence that carbon dioxide levels are at their highest in 650,000 years, that glaciers in the Himalayas and Arctic sea ice were melting and the warm Atlantic currents that bathe northwestern Europe were slowing down. The United States "is the worst offender" for the problem, said Clinton.

America has just four percent of the world's population, but accounts for nearly a quarter of global greenhouse gas emissions.

In a shameless display of self-promotion, William Jefferson Clinton jumped at an opportunity to continue his campaign to become the World Potentate. In what has become standard operating procedure for both he and Hillary, he said that Bush was "Flat wrong" about the Kyoto Protocol but urged cooperation with the US. In an interview last week with the BBC about the Global War on HIV, he said that he disagreed with the Bush administration on abortion funding, providing condoms and abstinence only education but urged cooperation anyway.

"There's no longer any serious doubt that climate change is real, accelerating, and caused by human activities," Clinton said. The Earth, he said, was "literally a biological miracle ... it's crazy for us to play games with our children's future." Conservatives argued -- and still do -- that the move to cleaner energy sources and tougher fuel efficiency standards would cost jobs and weaken the economy, he said. In fact, cleaner technology "would strengthen, not weaken our economy," said Clinton, "... in America, there's no there's no telling how many jobs we could create."

He spelt out a long list of things that could be done, including improving energy efficiency in US power plants, cars and buildings, switching to solar, wind and biofuels and even simple initiatives for ordinary citizens, such as using high-efficiency lightbulbs.

This is what George Bush has been advocating but unlike Clinton, is not willing to surrender sovereignty of US energy policy to the UN. It has become more obvious that the US is out of step with the UN. The level of anti-Americanism is being ratcheted up on a weekly basis. The foreign press makes no effort to conceal this bias and the UN is becoming less timid about it also.
On December 9, the UN Human Rights Commissioner, Louise Arbour, held a news conference and said that the United States is making the global ban on torture a victim of its war on terror.

On December 5, the former UN Human Rights Commissioner, Mary Robinson, said that the Bush Administration was ambivalent about torture and not forthcoming with information about rendition flights.

Are Demonrats really French?

He's Here, He's There, He's Everywhere

The AP headline trumpets Bill Clinton to Speak at Climate Conference

In surprise visit, former President Clinton will speak at the annual U.N. climate conference Friday, final day of a contentious two-week meeting, the United Nations confirmed.
Gee, a surprise visit! How nice. Well, we should have known. Being an egocentric, publicity hound, the man can't resist an opportunity to outshine everyone else in the room.

Bush administration envoys here were said to be displeased at Thursday's news of the unusual appearance _ of an ex-president at a critical point in backroom negotiations involving the U.S. delegation.
I wonder if Bill Clinton thinks back to the days when Dhimmi Carter kept popping up around the world to intervene in Clinton administration foreign policy dust-ups. I expect him to be on good behaviour this time . I would be very surprised if he does anything to undermine Bush. On the other hand, I am not surprised at AP for including the following bit of misdirection:

As president, Clinton championed the 1997 Kyoto Protocol to fight global warming, an international agreement requiring reductions in "greenhouse-gas" emissions by major industrialized nations. Soon after he succeeded Clinton, President Bush formally renounced the Kyoto accord, saying it would harm the U.S. economy.

So Clinton "championed" the Protocol but Bush renounced it. Bush can't get a break from these people. Clinton didn't actually champion it, Al Gore did. Bill Clinton was still President when the US Senate saw it and said "No way," and you hardly heard a word about it from President Clinton after that.

This is the interesting part of the article:

Clinton, who was invited here by the City of Montreal, will speak in an unofficial context in the main conference hall Friday afternoon, said U.N. conference spokesman John Hay.

A city spokesman said the former president will be representing the William J. Clinton Foundation, which operates the Clinton Global Initiative, a program focusing on climate change as a business opportunity, The Canadian Press reported.

With the William J. Clinton this and the William J. Clinton that, it reminds me of the Trump this and the Trump that. (Unlike Duke Cunningham, Clinton figures he's still got a good name.)

I think Clinton wrangled an invitation and will use the appearance to get publicity for his enterprise the 'Clinton Global Initiative.' I wonder how the watermelons (enviro communists) at the conference will react to Clinton using their party to promote his business. I also wonder how Al Gore will react. I imagine he'll be a little green himself.

Condi Goes to Europe

From Der Spiegel, Rice Visit Fails to Build Bridges by David Crossland in Berlin.

If US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's visit to Berlin for talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel was meant to herald a new era of trans-Atlantic harmony, it has failed. Merkel angered US officials with her public statement that Washington admitted it had made a "mistake" by kidnapping a German national There are possible implications for a suit filed this week by the civil rights group ACLU.

...Rice's trip was meant to signal a new start for trans-Atlantic ties, but if anything, relations are worse now.

...For commentators in Germany, the US practice of "extraordinary rendition," or secretly transferring suspects to third countries, including some outside Europe that routinely use torture, reveals how far Europe and the United States have drifted apart since Sept. 11 on how much leeway secret services should have in pursuing terrorists

The article went on to outline the misunderstanding between Merkel and Rice over whether or not Rice had actually apologized and admitted the mistake in "kidnapping and detaining a born German national of Lebanese descent. Merkel says she did, Washington says she did not. BTW - The ACLU is assisting the "victim" in a lawsuit against the US.

The former German Interior Minister claims that the US told him "nothing about CIA secret flights or secret prisons and that the issue had not been raised at joint meetings of the European Union's interior ministers."

In another article; a roundup of other German papers Der Spiegel reported:

It is hard not to hear the glee as commentators in Germany type their editorials and widely condemn the Bush administration for its involvement in the 2003 CIA abduction, and alleged torture, of Khaled al-Masri, a German national of Lebanese descent.

The left-leaning Die Tageszeitung takes up most of its front page with a made-up CIA job ad entitled "Torturers Wanted." The "position" calls for applicants with foreign language skills in Arabic and Urdu, experience in use of electronic technology and a valid pilot's license. It offers, in return, work as part of a motivated team and private use of the firm's fleet of jets. "Job applications, together with salary expectations and earliest dates of availability should be sent to: The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington." A companion front-page commentary relishes Washington's current discomfort, "in particular in view of the fact that questions (regarding torture) are being asked in America itself."
Also in Der Spiegel in a slanderously, bitter opinion piece by Clinton hatchet-man Sidney Blumenthal entitled Condi's Trail of Lies and a fawning puff piece on Mohammed ElBaradei winner of this years Nobel Peace Prize.

Reading all this was depressing but then later in the day I came across: NATO secretary general says Rice has cleared air by assuring allies U.S. does not allow torture

"It is my impression that Secretary Rice ... cleared the air. You will not see this discussion continuing" at the NATO headquarters, NATO Secretary General Jaap De Hoop Scheffer told a news conference.
What does all this tell us?

Who really knows? It may be that, while German press is even more anti-American than the US MSM, the politicians especially in NATO are actually somewhat on board with the war on terror. As far as ElBaradei receiving the Nobel Peace Prize; "For what?"

..."A Date that will live in infamy."

Red State Public Opinion

Forget about the biased public opinion polls, here's an email that shows that some people understand the nature of the enemy....

The lady that wrote this letter is Pam Foster of Pamela Foster and Associates in Atlanta. She's been in business since 1980 doing interiordesign and home planning. She recently wrote a letter to a family member serving in Iraq. Read it!

"Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11,2001? Were people from all over the world, mostly Americans, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac fromour nation's capitol and in a field in Pennsylvania? Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they? And, I'm supposed to care that a copy of the Koran was "desecrated" when an overworked American soldier kicked it or got it wet? Well, I don't. I don't care at all. I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself inand repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11. I'll careabout the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East start caring about theHoly Bible, the mere possession of which is a crime in Saudi Arabia. I'll care when Abu Musab al-Zarqawi tells the world he is sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head while Berg screamed through his gurgling, slashed throat. I'll care when the cowardly so-called "insurgents" in Iraq come out and fight like men instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques. I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs. I'll care when the American media stops pretending that their First Amendment liberties are somehow derived from international law instead of the United States Constitution's Bill of Rights.

In the meantime, when I hear a story about a brave marine roughing up an Iraqi terrorist to obtain information, know this: I don't care. WhenI see a fuzzy photo of a pile of naked Iraqi prisoners who have beenhumiliated in what amounts to a college hazing incident, rest assured that Idon't care. When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank that I don't care. When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran anda prayer mat, and fed "special" food that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being "mishandled," you can absolutely believe in your heart of! hearts that I don't care. And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled "Koran" and other times "Quran." Well, guess what.

Are the Europeans dead weight?

Secretary of State, Condoleeza Rice has been in Europe reassuring our wonderful allies in the "War on Terror" that the United States does not torture people.

She has been reminding them that some of the information obtained from the terrorists was used to prevent terror attacks on them.

She has also pointed out that the leaders of the various Euro countries have been informed of our actions all along.

Are the Europeans a lost cause? Sometimes, I think so. Other times, I wonder if they're worth the effort.

What have I been telling you?

From the Daily Telegraph, Mark Steyn has some words on the politics of Global Warming.

...as Steven Guilbeault of Greenpeace puts it: "Global warming can mean colder, it can mean drier, it can mean wetter, that's what we're dealing with." Got that? If it's hot, that's a sign of global warming, and, if it's cold, that's a sign of global warming.

Worth Noting - Iran is preparing for war.

Russia: Weapons to Iran for Defense Only
By MIKE ECKEL, Associated Press Writer, Dec 3, 8:17 P
MOSCOW - Russia's weapons sales to Iran are purely for defensive purposes, a government spokesman said Saturday, in response to reports that Russia was selling $1 billion worth of weapons to Iran.

"exclusively defensive weapons."...sales fully complied with nonproliferation commitments and Russian law.

Russia will send up to 30 Tor-M1 missile systems to Iran over the next two years.

The Tor-M1 system could identify up to 48 targets and fire at two targets simultaneously at a height of up to 20,000 feet.

A high-ranking Iranian official downplayed the deal, telling the official Islamic Republic News Agency on Saturday that Iran buys arms from many countries and would not stop.

The Iranians have made known their intentions against the west, particularly the United States and Israel, for years now. Since their revolution, they have branded the US as the great Satan and now Ahmadinejad ( A mad jihadi) called for Israel to be wiped off the map.

Obviously, Iran is preparing for war. Putin and Russia are playing dangerous games here.

The US must do everything within its power to bring about a social revolution in Iran. The Iranian people must be encouraged to bring about their own revolution and quickly. Time is running out.

Recommended Weekend Reading

Norman Podhoretz sets the record straight on who is lying about Iraq.

This is must reading.

Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;

The first sentence of the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights reads "Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;"

Over the years, the courts and secularists have peverted these words to mean a separation of church and state. The primary justification for this has been a letter written by Thomas Jefferson referring to a "wall" which had been established by the constitution.

Since the 1920's, The American Civil Liberties Union (founded by a Communist) has been in the forefront of the movement to move America away from its traditional Christian foundation into a secular society which believes that "freedom of religion" means "freedom from religion." Over time, the ACLU along with other secularists and atheists have allied with sympathetic judges and Supreme Court justices to advance their nefarious agenda and convince the public that invoking the name of Jesus Christ in a public prayer constitutes an endorsement of Religion. Subsequently, public prayers are avoided altogether. Europeans and secularists in the US are aghast and fearful of the overt Chrisitanity displayed by George W. Bush. Christians are increasingly seen as 'cultists' seeking to impose a restrictive morality on the whole public. The cultural war on Chrisitanity has been joined by scientists who are fully engaged against the idea of a "Creator." Government and Businesses are bowing to secular pressures and "Christmas" is being replaced with "Holidays." But it has not always been this way.

It is abundantly evident in the historical record that America is the only country in world history to be settled by a Christian people for the express purpose of worshipping God. With the exception of a couple of deists, the founding fathers were Christian; not Buddist, not Mohammedan, not Hindu, not secularists, and not atheists. While maybe not as devout or pious as their pilgrim ancestors, their worldview was founded on the Judeo-Christian principles of the Holy Bible. This was the worldview that crafted our Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States. It is clear that the founding fathers and the first Congresses of the United States had no problem with the Bible. In fact, recognizing that education was essential to the welfare and prosperity of the country, Congress authorized the printing of Bibles to be used as "readers" by America's shool children.

The First Amendment was written to ensure that men were free to worship the Creator as they saw fit. It was to prohibit a national religion such as the Church of England or the Catholic Church. Although the de facto national religion was Chrisitianity, no attempt has ever been made to create a theocracy, which so many on the left fear and constantly warn against. Sadly, because of intimidation by the ACLU and others such as the Americans United for the Separtion of Church and State, these contexts of history are not presented in public education. Each passing generation of historically ignorant and unchurched children make it easier to draw a nation away from the founding fathers' God of the Bible. Liberal ideologies of political correctness and cultural diversity cloak the true battle for the soul of a nation.

It is imperative for the survival of our nation, that the pendulum swing away from secular liberalism's 20th century assault on western civilization. Unless the courts are brought back to a recognition of the Judeo-Christian values and traditions which underpin the world's oldest democracy, subversive and sinister forces will pervert American society beyond all recognition.

Why the Left Hates Ann Coulter

This column should give you an epiphany.

It did me. They hate her because she plays by their rules.

And this little lady doesn't let the left get away with anything either.

Evolution - Where's the Beef?

Here's a column at National Review On-line that voices the same problems that I have with Evolution.

Whenever, I read some article about evolution like this one, I find myself asking, "Where's the beef?"

I don't have a problem with Science but I do have a problem with smug Darwinists and their agenda.

Read about the “Society of Open-minded Atheists and Agnostics” at the University of Kansas.

Here's a related story from the AP

Hey Democrats! Here's the Iraq War Plan!

Whilst I frequently bash the President for his horrific communication skills, I have to admit he's really done a fantastic job this time! Download the PDF within the article and read it, especially the Executive Brief portion. The "no-plan whatsoever Democrats" have had truth shoved into their anti-American faces once again!

Montreal Climate Summit - Day Three

The big news headline from the AP on day three:

"China Urges US to join Kyoto Treaty" by Beth Duff-Brown

MONTREAL - China _ one of the world's major polluters _ urged the U.S. to join the Kyoto treaty Wednesday, rejecting argum
ents that the pact is flawed because it fails to restrict emissions by developing countries.

China says "we're already cutting our emissions and it's unfair to ask our poor people to cut back on energy use. But we think it is a pity that the World's biggest polluter (US) isn't being nice." One can hardly blame the Chinese for playing politics. Afterall, the US points to China and India as having received exemptions to the treaty even though China admits to being the worlds second largest polluter.

This AP writer focuses on the anti-American politics of the summit but we are told this:

The Kyoto agreement targets carbon dioxide and five other heat-trapping gases blamed for rising global temperatures and disrupted weather patterns. It calls on the top 35 industrialized nations to cut emissions to 5.2 percent below their 1990 levels between 2008 and 2012.

On Wednesday, the conference finalized the treaty's so-called "rule book," establishing greenhouse emissions cuts and mechanisms to allow developed countries to earn credit for carbon reduction by investing in development projects in other nations.

This is why they need the US to join; so that we can subsidize the development of the world. It's a big wealth redistribution scheme which the US Senate voted 99-0 against when Bill Clinton was President.

"The Bush administration claims Kyoto would cost the US $400 billion and 5 million jobs."

The BBC also likes the anti-Bush angle and interviewed a Greenpeace representative who said that 'the US would not join Kyoto until after the 2008 election.' This statement ignores the fact that the US Senate must ratify Treaties.

Look for the World to continue to try to shame and bully the US into signing on to this bloodsucker. Hope and pray that no matter who is the President is or which party controls the Senate, the US does not commit economic suicide.

Great News, We're not going to burn up!

From the BBC Ocean changes to cool Europe

In the eighties, the alarmists were warning of a coming ice age. Then in the nineties their cry became "Global Warming." Hedging their bets, their buzz word became "Climate Change" so that either way, they can tell the rest of us what to do.

While 8,000 people are in Montreal trying to get the US under control and in-step to mitigate the dreaded global warming, scientists in Britain are saying that currents in the Gulf Stream are weakening and the Politicians of Europe need to plan for a cooler future.

Call off the Montreal Summit. Thank them for their service and send all the delegates home.

Its a good thing we haven't made any progress against global warming. We'll be thankful we warmed up a bit before the deep freeze sets in.

It's just too unbelievable for words!

Is Science at War With God?

Fundamentalism is hampering global efforts to tackle climate change, according to Britain's top scientist.

From the BBC Science faces 'dangerous times' By Helen Briggs, BBC News science reporter.

In his final speech as president of the Royal Society, Lord May of Oxford will say scientists must speak out against the climate change "denial lobby".

He will warn core scientific values are "under serious threat from resurgent fundamentalism, West and East".

We could counter with the argument that religion has been under serious threat from resurgent Evolutionists and hysterical Climatalogists also known in religious circles as the "World." Read the article. It is disturbing to see that Scientists perceive Bible believing Christians as a threat. This is not an isolated case of paranoia. These not so subtle attacks are occurring more frequently.

Another danger to the enlightenment of science came from the growing network of fundamentalist and lobby groups in the US that campaigned for creationism to be taught in science classes, he added.

"By their own writings, this group has a much wider agenda which is to replace scientific materialism by something more based on faith," he said.

Science has attempted to supplant faith for many, many years. The term post-modern refers to the time when man turned to Science and away from religion in an effort to understand his origin. Science and religion have not always been at odds but it appears Darwinists have highjacked Science with disasterous results for our society.

The world has been at war with religion, particularly Judaism and Christianity since their beginnings. Actually, we should clarify that to say that the world has been at war with God since the beginning. I have said before that resurgent anti-semitism should be our canary in the mine. When we see it, we should heed the warning of bad things to come and not just for the Jews.

We are known by the company we keep.

I think Colin Powell has some explaining to do.

From the Guardian UK:

Lawrence Wilkerson, who served as chief of staff to secretary of state Colin Powell from 2002 to 2005, singled out Mr Cheney in a wide-ranging political assault on the BBC's Today programme.

Mr Wilkerson said that in an internal administration debate over whether to abide by the Geneva conventions in the treatment of detainees, Mr Cheney led the argument "that essentially wanted to do away with all restrictions".

Asked whether the vice-president was guilty of a war crime, Mr Wilkerson replied: "Well, that's an interesting question - it was certainly a domestic crime to advocate terror and I would suspect that it is ... an international crime as well."

Colin Powell's Chief of Staff at the State Department has said that Vice-President is a war criminal; a terrorist. For good measure he throws in the following smear:

Mr Wilkerson, a former army colonel, also said he had seen increasing evidence that the White House had manipulated pre-war intelligence on Iraq to make its case for the invasion. He said: "You begin to wonder was this intelligence spun? Was it politicised? Was it cherry-picked? Did, in fact, the American people get fooled? I am beginning to have my concerns."

But wait, here is the coup-de-gras:

Mr Cheney has been under fire for his role in assembling evidence of weapons of mass destruction. Mr Wilkerson told the Associated Press that the vice-president must have sincerely believed Iraq could be a spawning ground for terrorism because "otherwise I have to declare him a moron, an idiot or a nefarious bastard".

Where has Mr. Powell been lately? I would certainly like to know what he thinks of his bud, Mr. Wilkerson? It's way past time to clean out the State Department.

Montreal Climate Summit - Day Two

From an AP article:
"U.S. under fire as Kyoto Protocol members hash out rules for global treaty to cut greenhouse gas emissions "

This 10 day America Bash is being attended by 8,000 environmentalists, scientists and government officials.

"U.S. comments that it would resist any binding commitment to curb global warming by capping industrial emissions infuriated environmentalists, who accused Washington of trying to derail the U.N. Climate Change Conference.

"When you walk around the conference hall here, delegates are saying there are lots of issues on the agenda, but there's only one real problem, and that's the United States," said Bill Hare of Greenpeace International."

So the environmentalists are infuriated because the US claims that:
1. It has reduced carbon emissions more than the Kyoto signatories.
2. In regard to the 2005 Hurricanes, there is a difference between climate and extreme weather.

Who elected these enviros to any office? Why must a soverign nation's energy policy be directed by a cabal of unknown watermelons?

"We live in an age of outrageous credulity."

From an editorial in the London Telegraph entitled "God isn't big enough for some people", Umberto Eco writes that we are "religious animals" and needing to justify our existence, find values and deal with our mortality we turn to religion.

He writes that in post-Christian Europe/UK :

The "death of God", or at least the dying of the Christian God, has been accompanied by the birth of a plethora of new idols...

G K Chesterton is often credited with observing: "When a man ceases to believe in God, he doesn't believe in nothing. He believes in anything." Whoever said it - he was right. We are supposed to live in a sceptical age. In fact, we live in an age of outrageous credulity
...

The existing religions just aren't big enough: we demand something more from God than the existing depictions in the Christian faith can provide. So we revert to the occult. The so-called occult sciences do not ever reveal any genuine secret: they only promise that there is something secret that explains and justifies everything. The great advantage of this is that it allows each person to fill up the empty secret "container" with his or her own fears and hopes.

Why the Canadian Government collapsed.

Yesterday, the the Liberal Party was essentially kicked out of power and must stand for new elections right after the first of the year. They were brought down by a real corruption scandal committed as only Francophones can do it. Canadian taxpayers were bilked out tens of millions of dollars during Chretein's administration.

Canada's auditor general in 2004 determined that about $127 million from Chretien's national unity fund went to Liberal-friendly ad firms for little or no apparent work in return. The program was designed to promote national unity in Quebec following the narrow defeat of a separatist referendum in the French-speaking province.

Investigators also determined that the Liberal Party funneled millions of dollars from the slush fund into their own campaign accounts in Quebec, infuriating Canadians who have likened the "sponsorship scandal" as their own version of Watergate.

The Government is suing for the return of $49.7 million.

Note to rabid anti-Bush leftwingers ala Mick "Crocodile" Dundee:
"You call that a scandal? Now, this is a scandal."

BTW, The Clinton Administration had far more indictments handed down against them than Bush has. In fact, it was dozens for Clinton versus 1 for Bush. Do your homework before you hysterically claim that "this is the most corrupt administration in history."

Montreal Climate Summit - Day One

From an AP story by Beth Duff-Brown.
Leading environmental groups spent the first hours of the conference blasting Washington for not signing the landmark 1997 agreement that sets targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions around the world.

Elizabeth May of the Sierra Club Canada, however, accused the world's biggest polluter of trying to derail the Kyoto accord, which has been ratified by 140 nations.

"We have a lot of positive, constructive American engagement here in Montreal _ and none of it's from the Bush administration, which represents the single biggest threat to global progress," May said.

Read what The BBC reported here. Evidently, they too felt the need to needle the US noting that environmentalists scoffed at the US claim to have reduced CO2 emissions by .8%

Maybe it's time to get the NGO's out of the process. As I suspected, It's more "Shame on the US, the biggest polluter." Not one word in the articles about France and Germany missing their Kyoto goals.

So far, we have heard from Green Peace and now the Sierra Club. If the MSM was worth a damn, we would know just who and what these organizations are all about. But that's not going to happen. They're more interested in looking at the political angle than they are in actually reporting a story.

For a different story on US efforts to curb emissions, see this website which claims that the US will be vindicated at Montreal with, “The rest of the developed world is now jumping on the bandwagon that the Bush Administration has been driving for more than three years,” Burnett said. “Welcome aboard!”

In addition, the U.S. has spent in excess of $6 billion per year, more than any other government, to create and promote technologies that will reduce emissions yet also promote economic growth. For example:

$700 million in tax credits to promote clean technologies
$3 billion in research into new clean technologies
$200 million to transfer clean technologies to developing countries

“Industry is on course to meet the Bush Administration’s goal of reducing annual emissions of greenhouse gases by 1.5 percent of gross domestic product, and that’s more than can be said for most Kyoto signatory nations,” Burnett added.

United Nations Montreal Climate Summit

A climate summit will be held in Montreal in February. This is first U.N. climate conference to be held since Kyoto went into effect. Read the BBC story here.

"The one thing that we don't want to see, and cannot afford, is to allow this US administration to hold the rest of the world hostage, while they go on about voluntary this and voluntary that, which doesn't in the end produce anything." Steve Sawyer of Greenpeace.

To set the stage, Al Gore went to Kyoto and met with various NGO's like the Sierra Club, and Greenpeace although, I don't recall hearing anything about whether he met with the actual energy producers. He then negotiated the abomination known as Kyoto, which put a huge burden for carbon dioxide reduction on the developed nations and left China, India and Africa completely off the hook. The U.S. Senate recognizing that the US would pay an unfair burden, refused to ratify the Kyoto Protocol and President Clinton refused to promote it. Can you imagine that. The Vice President crafts the greatest environmental treaty of the 20th century and his President refuses to endorse it? The left wing media pretty much ignored that angle as Clinton and Gore were given a pass by the MSM. Instead, George Bush became the scapegoat and the Europeans and the NGO's have been blaming Bush ever since. Interestingly, the Euros have already failed to meet their Kyoto carbon dioxide reduction targets and have found that it will cost them a lot of money to do so. So now, someone wants to drag everyone back to the negotiating table, where the extremists can find a new way to bind the participants to mandated reductions.

We already know who one of the interested parties is: Greenpeace.

It will be interesting to find out who the other players are and what they have in mind.

What Do Democrats Believe?

"Democrats believe that they should be governing the United States of America."

That's it. That's what they believe. In fact, they are obsessed with this belief.

This obsession drives them to do and say anything that will cast the Bush Administration in a negative light. Having been out of power (to one degree or another) since 1992, they are becoming more desperate as evidenced by their increasingly irrational rhetoric, tactics and antics.

In the 2000 election, they tried to masquerade Al Gore as a moderate but his bizarre behaviour and bombastic rhetoric reveal his true political identity.

In 2004, when it became apparent that the "unelectable" Howard Dean was on his way to the party nomination, the Democrate elites colluded with the MSM to annoint Vietnam Vet Kerry as the party standard bearer. The effort failed.

After these two failures, mainstream Democrats wrested control and Dr. Dean became the chairman of the now inscrutable party.

Trying to understand the Democrats is an exercise in futility. It's like trying to understand the irrationality of a megolamaniac. One only need to accept them for what they are. Pathologically desperate to have their way. One may as well expect honor and rationality from the Palestinians. They just don't give a damn about what they have said or done or previously agreed to. They are rabid for power and if they cannot govern absolutely, they will only obstruct.

Given their now pathological irrationality, there's no talking to them anymore. Like the Palestinians, they cannot be trusted and only believe in only one thing. That is: regaining power.

That must not be allowed to happen.

Florida is getting more bizarre

Alawites are worried in Syria

From the BBC,
Syria's minority Alawites fear for future
By Kim Ghattas BBC News, Read here.

"Alawites worry they are the ones that are going to eat all the revenge and discrimination"

What the article didn't mention is that about 20 years ago there were widespread reports that Hafez al-Assad's regime killed 70,ooo - 80,000 people including up to 40,000 in the 1982 Hama massacre where people were killed by poison gas.

So yes, the Alawites should be worried and the fact that they are is good news. Change is in the wind in the Middle East. The question is - who will most affect that change? Salafists, Wahhabis, Iranians, or the West?

George Bush deserves a lot of credit for bringing a freedom movement to the Arab world. Because of politics he's not getting it. The invasion of Iraq and overthrow of Saddam Hussein have so far resulted in Libya's Muammar al-Qaddafi renouncing terror and giving up his nuclear arms program, The first election in Egypt and a growing freedom movement there, Syria's pullout from Lebanon, democratic elections in Iraq and a growing resistance movement in Iran.

A 109 year old World War One Veteran has died in Scotland.

Alfred Anderson, the last surviving soldier to have heard the guns fall silent along the Western Front during the spontaneous "Christmas Truce" of World War I, died Monday at age 109. More than 80 years after the war, Anderson recalled the "eerie sound of silence" as shooting stopped and soldiers clambered from trenches to greet one another Dec. 25, 1914.

"Graham unwittingly destroys the "Bush lied" argument

Bob Graham former Democratic Senator from Florida and Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) had an op-ed piece in the Sunday Washington Post. He said that Bush's claims that Senate Democrats had the same intelligence as the Whitehouse were "outrageous." He wrote that President Bush has "undermined trust" and is not trustworthy. He dredged up his previous claim that Tommy Franks told him in Feb 2002 that "the war was being compromised as specialized personnel and equipment were being shifted from Afghanistan to prepare for the war in Iraq -- a war more than a year away."

Tommy Franks has previously denied Graham's claim.

Graham claimed that in Sept 2002, he asked George Tenet for a National Intelligence Estimate which he received six weeks later. The gist of the piece was that the Bush administration was intent on invading Iraq even though the "Intelligence" did not support such a distraction from the war in Afghanistan.

Jed Babbin inThe American Spectator makes the case that "Graham unwittingly destroys the "Bush lied" argument more thoroughly than any Republican could." He says that since Graham claimed to know about the "defective intelligence," he and his fellow Democrats on the SSCI had an obligation to let the other Senate Democrat know about it. Babbin writes, "There are only two possibilities that arise from Graham's statements: either Graham and his fellow SSCI Dems didn't try to warn others that the administration's case for the war (and the evidence supporting it) was fallacious, or the other Dems simply didn't believe him. There's no third choice.

Bob Graham was in a position of power and responsibility from which he could have raised objections publicly, and warned both his colleagues and the American people that the case for war was a fraud if that is what he believed. He could have taken detailed classified objections to the president, the secretary of state and the secretary of defense, as well as the director of the CIA. But he didn't. Why? Because he didn't believe the case against the war? Or because he didn't believe then what he conveniently believes now. "

From Their Own Traitorist Mouths

A challenge to all Democrats - sit through all of this, if you can stomach it! - Tiger

http://media1.streamtoyou.com/rnc/111505.wmv

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself." —Marcus Tullius Cicero

On This Day in History

From the BBC News, On this day,

November 21, 1979.

U.S. Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan was attacked by a mob in a five hour seige precipitated by the Iranian leader, Ayatollah Khomeini's claim that Americans were behind the occupation of Islam's holiest site, the Great Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the day before.

A U.S. Marine standing on the roof of the embassy was shot dead.

The Saudi Arabian authorities stated the Mecca incident was the work of Muslim fundamentalists and no Westerners were involved.

It's very interesting thay 26 years later the same tactics are being used. Muslim fundamentalists, commit some atrocity or heinous act and other Muslims blame either the United States or the Jews or both.

Just imagine if Bush had done nothing...

From the Weekly Standard, Joel Engel's article "They Left Him No Choice" gives us a timely reminder of George Bush's post 9/11 dilemma.

Think about this from the president's point of view: Much of the country is calling for your head regarding your alleged failure to prevent 9/11 when no firm intelligence predicted such a thing. Do you really have any choice but to act on the overwhelming amount of clear evidence that says bad things are happening beneath hidden bunkers in Iraq? No. You have no other way out than to fight preemptively. If you don't, well, heaven forbid another attack is made on American soil--with grotesque weapons that came out of Iraq after sanctions were lifted and Saddam's WMD program was reconstituted (as the Duelfur Report later extrapolated).

At his impeachment trial, shortly before conviction, the president would have been made to endure a verbatim recitation of the many dire warnings about Iraq and Saddam Hussein uttered by Democrats Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Sandy Berger, and Madeline Albright. "Iraq is a long way from [here]," Secretary of State Albright said on February 18, 1998, "but what happens there matters a great deal here. For the risks that the leaders of a rogue state will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against us or our allies is the greatest security threat we face."
The Jerusalem Post is reporting that al-Zarqawi may have been killed in Mosul.

"Call them what they are -- TRAITORS"

Mark Alexander has a column at Townhall.com entitled

"Call them what they are -- TRAITORS"

He includes the following:

The Iraq Liberation Act: Passed by the U.S. Congress and signed by Bill Clinton in 1998, the Act stated,

"It should be the policy of the United States to support efforts to remove the regime headed by Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq, and to promote the emergence of a democratic government to replace that regime."

He includes a number of Democrat quotes which they cannot run away from and they will not be able to blame Bush for misleading them. He also gives credit to the most honorable and principled of all the Senate Democrats - Senator Joe Liberman.

Okay Mr. Murtha, we'll raise you...

.... and call. Let's see 'em.

An AP report:

WASHINGTON - House Republicans, seeing an opportunity, maneuvered for a quick vote and swift rejection Friday of a Democratic lawmaker's call for an immediate troop withdrawal from Iraq.

"We want to make sure that we support our troops that are fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan," said Speaker Dennis Hastert, R-Ill. "We will not retreat."

Murtha offered a resolution that would force the president to withdraw the nearly 160,000 troops in Iraq "at the earliest practicable date." It would establish a quick-reaction force and a nearby presence of Marines in the region.
House Republicans planned to put to a vote _ and reject _ their own resolution that simply says: "It is the sense of the House of Representatives that the deployment of United States forces in Iraq be terminated immediately."

It's time to stand up and be counted, Gentlemen.

Update: The vote was 403-3 against immediate withdrawal.

Former CIA Head calls Cheney "VP For Torture"

The Headline Reads 'Cheney is vice president for torture' Read here.

The war against the Bush administration continues on all fronts. A former CIA director, Admiral Stansfield Turner has claimed that torture is condoned and even approved by the Bush government and called Cheney "a vice president for torture," He thinks Bush is lying when he says that we do not torture people and that he is embarassed "the United States has a vice president for torture.

It sounds to me like another leftist American spouting off in Europe. I've noticed that they go over there and try to curry favor by being especially anti-American.

This is absolutely outrageous, irresponsible despicable behaviour even from a partisan hack like Stansfield Turner. It is unforgiveable. This drive to bring down Bush's polling numbers is more than that. When his popularity is so low, that not even Republicans will stand by him, they will impeach him. Also, look for many more calls for him to be tried as a war criminal.

In the Twlight Zone with Mary Mapes

Mary Mapes is the former CBS Sixty-Minutes producer responsible for dethroning her boss - broadcast legend Dan Rather. Like regrouped Baathist insurgents, she has been making the sympathetic talk-show rounds hawking her book about the short-lived, easily discredited hatchet job on the Bush re-election campaign. The gist of the story was that George W. Bush while serving in the Texas Air National Guard (read draft evader) was accorded favorable treatment due to his family connections. They claimed that Mr. Bush had missed mandatory flight physical evaluations and had failed to serve the full term of his enlistment. Bloggers shot down their proof as forgeries and the accusers went down in flames.

Why doesn't someone ask Ms. Mapes why she and Mr. Rather reserved their righteous indignation for one veteran but ignored the war record of the other Vietnam era veteran seeking the Office the Presidency of the United States of America. After all, John F. Kerry was a confessed war criminal and by his own words had engaged in and covered up atrocities against humanity. Furthermore, he had the audacity to run for the highest office in the land. How could they fail to stand for all that is "good and true" by not opposing such an outrage?

Be assured that if George W. Bush had John Kerry's war record, he would not be the President today.

While Ms. Mapes cries about the vast right-wing blogosphere conspiracy that tragically wronged her, Dan has been rather silent lately.
